The Warren County Department of Workforce Development is actively seeking local businesses to participate in the Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP), a valuable resource for supplementing your summer staffing needs.
Why Partner with SYEP?
- Cost-Effective Labor: Access motivated young workers at no direct cost to your business. The program is funded by federal grants.
- Support Local Youth: Contribute to the development of Warren County's future workforce by providing valuable work experience.
- Increased Summer Productivity: Address seasonal staffing challenges and maintain operational efficiency during peak summer months.
- Community Investment: Strengthen your connection to the community by participating in a program that benefits both youth and local businesses.
How Does it Work?
- Qualified youth, aged 14-20, are placed at various worksites, including private businesses, for approximately 8 weeks, starting in late June.
- These young workers earn $15.50 per hour, funded by the program.
- Businesses provide a supportive work environment and meaningful tasks, contributing to the youth's skill development.
- Recent years have seen successful placements in campgrounds, farms, and a variety of private businesses.
