The Foundation provides grants to non-profit organizations and donor-directed scholarships for area students. It also serves as an endowed investment fund for non-profit organizations. Capital projects, Equipment purchases, New initiative and Special projects qualify for consideration.
Preserve NY
Preserve New York makes grants for historic structure reports, building condition reports, cultural landscape reports, and cultural resource surveys. Applicants must be: a unit of local government or a nonprofit group with tax-exempt status. State agencies and religious institutions are not eligible to apply. The program provides support up to 80% of the project cost. Applicants must provide 20% of the total project cost as a cash match. Grants are likely to range between $5,000 and $14,000.
Technical Assistance Grants are available to eligible NYS nonprofits and municipalities. This program provides support for consulting projects that preserve New York State’s cultural and historic resources. The grants will support professional services of architects, engineers, and other design and preservation professionals working with nonprofit groups and municipalities to preserve their buildings, structures, and other resources that serve an arts and/or cultural function.Grants of up to $4,000, with a required 20% project cost match from each applicant.
New York State Community Development Block Grant (NYS CDBG) Small Business Assistance & Microenterprise Programs: Funding available for eligible applicants (generally cities, towns and villages with municipalities with populations under 50,000 and counties with an area population under 200,000) to provide small business assistance and conduct microenterprise programs.
