- Hudson River Nature Trails:
- The Hudson River Nature Trails consist of several interconnected looping trails through the woods and along the scenic Hudson River. Most of the trails are relatively flat, although there are a couple of moderate climbs on the yellow trail. The trails are open to cross-country skiers in the winter.
- This location provides beautiful river views, and a large variety of natural flora and fauna.
- Ben Wood Mountain:
- This is an easy hike along a logging road. The summit is wooded, but continuing on a short path south of the summit leads to a viewpoint with vistas of the peaks of Thurman and Warrensburg to the south. Open rock ledges provide a perfect picnic spot. The trail is not marked, but it is wide and easy to follow.
- This hike offers relatively easy access to beautiful southern views of the area.
- Bear Slides Trail
- This is a short, uphill climb to a natural waterslide on Buttermilk Brook. Two picnic tables make this a great destination for a picnic and an afternoon of fun in the water. Bring something to slide down the rocks on! (Please note that the water is not deep enough to swim but there are numerous fun wading opportunities in addition to the slide.) This is a great option for families with children, as it offers a unique and fun experience in a beautiful natural setting.
