Contemplating starting or expanding a small business? Overwhelmed with all that a startup entails? Ready for the next step to seek assistance? We are here to help!
In collaboration with Washington County LDC and SUNY Adirondack, Warren County LDC offers a Microenterprise Assistance Program (MAP). The program is open to all Warren County prospective entrepreneurs and existing commercial enterprises in Warren County having 10 or fewer employees.
The 10-week program helps you to prepare a business plan to launch or expand your small business. Speakers from local business, Washington County LDC, Warren County LDC, and the SCORE business mentoring network will address such topics as: marketing, bookkeeping, financial projections, human resources and loans and tools for small business. You will have the opportunity to acquire the skills and resources necessary to achieve your business goals. Hundreds of entrepreneurs have participated in the MAP since 1995.
This course is offered through SUNY Adirondack's Office of Continuation in the spring and fall. To receive more information about the timing of the classes and registration call 518.743.2238 or email conted@sunyacc.edu.
Join the Community Loan Fund as we launch our first ever “Financial Wellness Program”, aimed at addressing credit and bookkeeping barriers that prevent entrepreneurs from accessing capital for their business ventures. With funding for the program coming from Empire State Development (ESD), the Community Loan Fund wishes to invite current clients that are currently operating a small business or plan to launch their business within the next year to apply.
Rolling enrollment for the program will be available until February 2025. The Financial Wellness Program will provide:
Up to six (6) months of credit counseling to assist entrepreneurs with addressing credit issues.
Up to three (3) hours of QuickBooks online training.
Three (3) required financial education workshops focusing on budgeting, money strategies, and business finance.
One-on-One business mentoring to assist with their business development goals.
To participate in the program, applicants must have a written business plan, business financial statements (if applicable) and complete an initial business goals assessment. A $50 participation fee is required to enroll. Participation in the credit counseling sessions after the initial credit assessment appointment is subject to an additional $20 fee per session. Any fees incurred will be refundable following the successful completion of the Financial Wellness Program.
If you would like to participate in this program, but do not have a written business plan, our training staff can assist you. Please book a one-on-one mentoring appointing for assistance by clicking HERE.
